"Art, for me, is the vibration of a magical essence; the incantation of an arcane force, speaking itself into being, raising itself through emotional bodies of myth and symbol, in arrangements wholly other, wholly strange, wholly true."
James Waller is an artist and poet from Melbourne, Australia, currently based in West Cork, Ireland. His paintings, textiles and sculptures have appeared in, amongst other places, the Sydney Opera House, St Patrick’s Cathedral (Melbourne) and the Kasmir World Music Festival (Ladakh). As a sculptor he takes his cue from the savagely primitive, yet classically empowered work of fellow Australian, Lawrence Gundabuka.
A selection of James' sculptures are available to order. Please contact the gallery for full details.
