Sharon Dipity



Sharon Dipity graduated with a B.A. Honours degree in Textiles from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 1986; and a Postgraduate Certificate in Scenography from U.C.E, Birmingham, 2001. She works across the media of painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, printmaking and textiles.Sharon draws inspiration from the environment: architecture, infrastructure, land and seascapes, often referencing the fairy tales of her childhood. Communication, connection, journeys, destiny and attainment are recurring themes in her work.


The work currently on available, exclusively, at 2020 Art Gallery is from Sharon's 'Rock' and 'Cautionary Tales' series'


Sharon has exhibited in solo and group shows in Ireland and Europe. In 2014, Sharon was commissioned by the HSE South Cork Arts and Health Programme to create a series of light boxes, ‘Journeys’, for Blackrock Hall Primary Care Centre, Cork. Her work is in several private collections.


She is the recipient of several arts bursaries from ‘The Arts Council of Ireland’ and was awarded residencies at ‘The Tyrone Guthrie Centre’, Co. Monaghan with a bursary from Cork County Council (2010); at ‘The Cill Rialaig Project’, Kerry (2011); and at ‘Uillinn’, West Cork Arts Centre, (2016)
